Golder has a new opportunity for a Project Environmental Scientist / Engineer to join our Contaminated team on a full-time basis based in Sydney .

You will be working with driven professionals across multi-disciplinary groups who are passionate, smart, inclusive and proud to be part of a company that is dedicated to providing innovative solutions to a diverse range of clients.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to the Contaminated Group Leader and working with multiple Project Managers, you will be involved in a diverse range of fieldwork and reporting aspects of multiple contamination investigations and remediation projects. You will be an environmental scientist or engineer who will be able to multi-task, carry out field work, prepare reports and technical documents and liaise with subcontractors under the supervision and guidance of senior staff and mentors. Your role will include: 
  • Contaminated Site Investigations 
  • Supervising / undertaking fieldwork 
  • Remediation Program; planning, designing and implementation
  • Projects involving collaboration with other disciplines
  • Providing direction and supervision to junior team members

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline such as environmental science, engineering, geology, or earth science
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant environmental consultancy or industry experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Experience in the approach, implementation and interpretation of Environmental Site Assessments incorporating soil, soil vapour, sediment, surface water and groundwater programs
  • A strong affinity for health and safety
  • Flexibility and openness to change
  • A willingness to travel and work in remote areas
  • Moving to new office at North Sydney in mid-year
