To conduct Life Cycle Assessments (LCA’s) for the Gypsum Activity world-wide. In addition, an important aspect of the role is providing assistance with the Company environmental reporting process and assessing performance trends. It will also be necessary to assist with other environmental projects as part of our drive for continual environmental improvement.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
The role involves planning and conducting LCA projects and producing Environmental Product Declarations (EPD’s). This, in turn, will involve the use of existing tools, models & systems and creating new ones where necessary.
The role also entails guiding and assisting businesses throughout the LCA process. You will collect and synthesize information to produce models, communicate results through well-structured figures and tables, write reports and present results in project meetings.
- Other important aspects of the role are the need to:
- Analyse and interpret environmental data reported by the various global businesses and assist them to improve their reporting performance;
- Undertake various other environmental projects and tasks in order to assist the Activity and its businesses in delivering continual environmental improvement.
Experience / Qualification
Applicants will have a university degree in Environmental Studies or similar and a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience. Alternatively, candidates lacking sufficient experience, but possessing a master’s degree in Environmental Studies are also encouraged to apply.
You should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team and to communicate effectively with people based globally. This will include the ability to present complex information so that it is understandable to a non-technical audience.
You will need to be highly motivated and detail oriented with well-developed data processing & data management skills as well as good problem solving and systems thinking skills. You will be proficient in the use of Excel as well as other Microsoft office tools.
Good presentation and communication skills are essential and intellectual curiosity is also very important. Candidates must be willing to travel internationally as required.
