We're working with one of the world's leading Multi-Disciplinary consultancies as they look to fill a pivotal role in their Cardiff office. We are looking for an Associate Director or a Technical Director to help grow their existing ecology team and assist in developing business in the region. This is a strategic appointment as South Wales has been pinpointed as a key target area for their ecology team.
The successful candidate will be involved in generating new opportunities and maintaining existing client relationships as well as the preparation of tenders and over-seeing the delivery and management of a range of ecological services. Working with the UK Head of Ecology they will also take an active role in assuring quality of output and the mentoring of junior staff.
The role will be primarily office based; however, occasional field work may be required to support the field team during busy periods and to provide necessary insight on major or challenging projects.
*At least 7 years' experience gained within consultancy;
*An enthusiastic, confident and positive approach with excellent communication and project and people management skills;
*Experience across a range of UK habitats and protected species and will hold (or have held) survey and mitigation licences;
*A proven record of supporting clients through devising and delivering survey programmes, developing pragmatic, cost-effective mitigation, gaining the agreement of regulators and supervising implementation on-site;
*Experience of Ecological Impact Assessment and writing Environmental Statement chapters;
*A proven record of winning work from commercial clients, particularly in the residential, mixed use and industrial sectors; Full Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management and have or be able to demonstrate that you are working towards Chartered Ecologist status.
