We are seeking a Full-time Permanent Consultant (Environmental Geochemistry and Geospatial Science) in Perth.

The Role

We are looking for a talented, motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Geochemist and Geospatial Scientist who was a passion to continue learning and developing a career as a Consultant with SRK. You will join a highly respected team who work closely with our Mine Closure, Tailings Engineering and Hydrogeology teams providing high quality technical work including geochemical characterisation, baseline soil assessments, water quality assessments and development of mineral waste management plans.

Professionally, you will be supported and guided by more senior staff who will mentor and assist you in developing your technical skills and career aspirations, as well as gradually building up a network of clients. The successful candidate will have:

¢ Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geochemistry, GIS or a related discipline. Post-graduate studies (MSc or PhD) in Geochemistry (or a related subject) would be advantageous.

¢ At least 3 years relevant experience

¢ Experience with management of laboratory programs and geochemical datasets, including QA/QC procedures

¢ Field experience including collecting soil, water and waste rock samples

¢ Experience with analysis and interpretation of geochemical data (including waste rock, soils, water quality)

¢ Excellent Excel, GIS and Leapfrog skills.

¢ Ability to produce high quality maps, cross-sections and figures.

¢ Scripting/coding skills (particularly Python, SQL) and an interest to further develop these in the pursuit of automation of data workflows etc.

¢ Some experience in geochemical modelling tools such as PHREEQC would be advantageous

¢ Good report writing and presentation skills.

¢ Knowledge of current geochemical, water and mine waste management best practice, standards and Australian environmental regulations would be advantageous

Responsibilities of the role will include:

¢ Providing support to a variety of geochemical projects, which may be undertaken to support environmental permitting, baseline studies, operational activities, and closure/remediation studies.

¢ Assisting to design and conduct geochemical characterisation assessments (soil, mine wastes, and ore), including field and laboratory activities, along with associated groundwater and surface water sampling, and other environmental investigations

¢ Assessment and reporting of geochemical data, including the use of a variety of data management and statistical tools

¢ Undertaking water quality assessments and geochemical modelling

¢ Being able to condense technical data into fit for purpose reports and presentations.

¢ Assisting with the preparation of proposals in response to client needs, along with other business development activities

¢ Use GIS software to manage and evaluate data, including creating and managing maps

Salary Range:

$80,000 - $100,000 per annum depending on experience
