HSE Co-ordinator Europe
The Heath, Safety & Environmental Co-Ordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Senior HSES Manager to ensure that our region consistently meets the requirements of the Global Management System (GDS) and complies with relevant IAC standards and local legislative mandates. This includes active engagement with internal and external stakeholders when necessary. Additionally, the HSE Co-Ordinator is dedicated to a continuous enhancement of safety and environmental performance. They take on a leadership and coaching role for the European HSES team, providing guidance and support. Furthermore, they are responsible for gathering pertinent HSE data and reporting, as necessary. This role also involves evaluating the effectiveness of site management systems, initiating corrective actions, implementing improvements, and reporting on progress. It is crucial that all local procedures align with GDS requirements.

- Support the Senior HSES Manager in assisting the HSE function, with action plans, meetings, and technical support.
- Manage and conduct the ISO14001 / ISO45001 internal crossover audits using their knowledge of HSE management systems and ISO norms.
- Manage internal SIP Audits (systemic improvement process)
- Write and prepare HSE communications.
- Track open points from audits, investigation reports and roadmaps.
- Report on accident and incident analysis to identify trends and root causes.
- Create monthly reports for the management team.
- Create and manage continuous improvement plans.
- Meet IAC document control requirements.
- Take action to achieve the operational objectives (KPIs).
- Chair the European HSES committee meeting.
- Provide feedback to the Senior HSES Manager in order to provide best practice communications to the European Region.
- Support in the reporting of audit results and status related corrective actions.
- Train and coach plant management teams to establish and maintain a documented management system, meeting the requirements of ISO14001 / ISO 45001 and other environmental, health & safety standards and customer requirements where applicable.
- Support IAC plants during the preparation for 3rd party audits.
- Keep informed on the changes in the health safety & environmental legislation, ensuring that new legislation is reviewed and added to legal registers.
- Participate in the corporate Management Review for ISO14001/ISO45001, reporting on HSE status and providing advice on improvement activities.
- Support the implementation of actions related to HSE programmes.
- Support employees to address HSE concerns with clear communication methods.
- Escalation of HSE concerns to the corporate management team following any breaches to IAC Policies and Procedures.
- Act as a support function for the European team.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in the automotive industry as quality and/or HSE engineer, or experience in production sector as HSE Engineer and/or Specialist.
- Experience in document management and control.
- Educated to degree level in Engineering or HSE or equivalent education.
- Knowledge of ISO14001, OHSAS18001/ISO 45001, ISO/IATF16949, ISO50001.
- Knowledge of EHS legislation and customer requirements.
- Fluent in English.
- PC Literate with daily us of Microsoft Office.
