Position Overview: As a dynamic and skilled Impact Assessment or Permitting practitioner in our Environmental Solutions team, you will leverage your energy sector experience to provide informed advice to our diverse range of industrial clients. • Provide expert guidance to industrial clients on the transition to cleaner and more sustainable fuel sources, including the assessment of economic, environmental, and operational implications.
  • Lead and conduct environmental assessments, analysing the potential impacts of fuel switching initiatives on air quality, water resources, ecosystems, and communities.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to clients on sustainable energy solutions, considering both technical feasibility and economic viability.
  • Assist clients in navigating regulatory frameworks and obtaining necessary permits related to fuel switching projects.
  • Integrate climate resilience considerations into project planning and design, ensuring that solutions are adaptable to future environmental challenges.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in environmental regulations, technologies, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to clients' projects.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports and documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships and actively participate in business development activities to identify new project opportunities.
  • Engage in stakeholder consultations and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability or a related field.
  • Proven experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on industrial fuel switching, EPR permitting and EIA processes in the UK.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK environmental regulations, including EPR and EIA regulations.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to environmental challenges.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Environmentalist) and memberships (e.g., IEMA) are advantageous.
  • Experience with environmental modelling, data analysis, and environmental impact assessment tools is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and attend meetings as required.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, flexible working and more.
  • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
  • A dynamic and inclusive work environment that promotes innovation and teamwork.
  • Contribution to meaningful, sustainable energy projects that have a positive impact on the environment and society.
