They are involved with complete Product Build, ready tested and delivered to the end user.Supporting customers globally, they work in a number of sectors including but not limited to Automotive, Aerospace, Comms, Defence, Industrial, Oil & Gas, Medical, Transport and Nuclear.Their vision is to be the customers' first choice for the manufacture of mission critical, high technology electronics, adding value globally and they are dedicated to delivering innovation and service excellence by investing in design, build and fulfilment of their Customers ProductsPURPOSE OF ROLE The goal of the QMS & HSE Technician is to ensure the company framework is maintained and adhered to in order to remain compliant and to become "every day ready" for an inspection. You will support the development and maintenance of the Business Management System as well as providing support for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Health & Safety system; ensuring the two run concurrently and is in line with ISO 45001. You will support the development and maintenance of the Business Management System by promoting and developing a positive Quality culture within the organisation. More specifically;
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of the accreditations strategic to the company
  • Primarily, the AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485 (Medical Devices) and accreditations for the Company and such other schemes or programs which arise through Customer or market needs of the business such as IATF 14969.
  • Assisting in the development of a Continuous Improvement culture throughout the Business.
  • Supporting the introduction of Customer lead Quality Initiatives such as Total Preventative Maintenance

PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES To assist with the maintenance and development of the Quality Management Systems through the following activities:

Conducting procedural and product audits to ensure conformity to company's standards,Identifying common/repeat issues and conducting the appropriate level of investigation to address the root causeDispositioning any non-conformities within the business through liaison with internal stakeholder

Liaising with suppliers to bring quality concerns to their attention, as well as conducting planned supplier audits

Supporting Customer communications / enquiries about Quality Management Systems, including product complaint

Identifying risks to the business through involvement within the New Product Introduction, Sales Order Reviews and Change control procedure

Assisting with inspections at various points of the manufacturing stages to support the business needs, such as goods inwards, in-process inspection and counterfeit inspection

Supporting the management and release of the Business Management systems documentation into the company intranet

Communicating any findings to internal and external stakeholders, at all levels of the business.

To support in the introduction of any accreditations deemed necessary to reach strategic direction.

To support the development, introduction, and maintenance of the H&S Management system through the following activities:

Identification and reporting of any accidents or near-misses

Investigation of any incident that meet the investigation threshold,

Conducting Risk Assessments of processes and equipment used

Conducting COSHH Assessments for the chemicals and hazardous materials stored and used

Conducting audits of H&S management system,

Communicating any findings to internal and external stakeholders, at all levels of the business.

To actively promote the concept of Behavioural Safety within the workplace to fully engage staff in their empowerment in a H&S culture.

To identify and highlight opportunities for improvement in day-to-day activities.

To work closely with all other departments to ensure cohesion and synergy between teams to achieve quality product to the customer on time.

To undertake any other training/education identified by the company for career progression.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Educated to GCSE (or Level2 equivalent) standard at Grade A*- C/ 9 - 4
  • Demonstrable experience in a quality/inspection position within a manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in a Health and Safety role, preferably within a manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of problem solving and investigation tools such as 8D, CAPA, 5-Whys.
  • Demonstrable experience in quality systems auditing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data handling and analysis.
  • Demonstratable ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the business.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ideally holds IOSH and/or NEBOSH Certificates.
  • Experience in planning and conducting supplier audits is advantageous.
  • Whilst not essential, knowledge of IPC standards is advantageous.
  • Whilst not essential, knowledge of ISO 9001, AS 9100, ISO 13485 and ISO 45001 is advantageous.
