The role will support the integration of environmental policy, strategy, systems and standards into operational arrangements to ensure regulatory and legal compliance, avoidance and reduction of emissions, efficient use of materials and resources and control of impacts to wildlife and bio diversity.
To provide expert support within SP Energy Networks on environmental compliance management activities through the development and implementation of Environmental controls as part of the SPEN Integrated Management System. Giving assurance on SPEN’s compliance with ISO14001 2015 and environmental legislation and supporting the business in meeting its environmental and social obligations and commitments across all activities.
What you’ll be doing
Provide specialist environmental support to the SPEN Licences with lead responsibility for one area of environmental management to enable the Licence Directorates and ENET to meet their Environmental commitments and obligations.
Develop and maintain environmental management controls, policy and procedures to ensure the ISO14001 certified management system is effective.
Within the role you will be a leading expert in SPEN on a range of environmental topics, working closely with operational management to promote leadership on environmental topics whilst advising on environmental compliance to minimise the risk of breaches.
What you’ll bring
A prior knowledge of environmental legislation with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Industrial environmental management
- Environmental policy and strategy implementation
- Waste, contaminated land, water, waste water, wildlife or energy management regulation
- Environmental risk and impacts evaluation.
The successful candidate with be able to converse in their experience in development, implementation, use and auditing of Management Systems preferably environmental management systems and ISO14001
Previous experience in a utility or operational environment would be advantageous.
