Environmental Consultancy Manager

Working Pattern: 37 hrs per week - Monday to Friday

Location: West Bridgford, Nottingham

The Job

We are looking for an Environmental Consultancy Manager to join our Environmental Management & Design Team.

Key areas of responsibility will include: -

  • To manage available resources and capacity within the team to ensure successful delivery of the teams work programme to meet both internal and external client expectations
  • Implement and manage the provision of specialist technical expertise and project delivery which may be complex and significant to achieve quality, programme and financial targets meeting customer and stakeholder requirements
  • To manage planning processes ensuring compliance with legislation, national and local policies
  • To support delivery of projects which may be complex and large scale
  • To identify opportunities for growth and developments in the team to support the business plan objectives
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety management systems, processes and requirements, and health and safety legislation
  • To coach and mentor staff ensuring they reach their performance targets and future potential
  • To comply with statutory responsibilities, duties, policies and procedures to maintain our high quality service
  • To be an ambassador for the company, maintaining our positive company reputation

The Person

Mainly you will be excited to be a part of our engineering projects, but there are just a few other things we’d like from you:-

  • A relevant degree and Chartership or relevant professional institute, or equivalent post qualification experience/knowledge gained through practical experience in a design consultancy and ongoing CPD requirements eligible for Chartership
  • Demonstrable expertise in at least one of the team’s technical disciplines including:
  • · Ecology
  • · Landscape planning
  • · Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
  • · Environmental noise assessment
  • Ability to lead a team, make decisions and solve problems to meet team objectives and operational targets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to gain agreement and an ability to work collaboratively and involve colleagues
  • Strong ICT skills including competence in GIS software
  • Working knowledge of health and safety, technical, planning and legislation
  • Experience of working with customers and stakeholders to achieve delivery objectives
  • Proven experience of financial monitoring and control across a range of projects
  • A high level of personal drive, commitment to delivery of excellent customer care.
