IEMA (The Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) is the largest professional body for everybody working in the environment and sustainability, with more than 17,000 members. We have an exciting opportunity to work in our Commercial Marketing team to support the institute’s objectives to drive membership growth and retention across all business units and to add value to the wider environment.

The Careers Pathway Manager (CPM) will knit together three core stakeholder groups (students / individuals, universities and corporates), demonstrating the career opportunities that exist for sustainability and environmental professionals and corporations.

Typical duties include;

  • Structuring and leading the career pathway programme by identifying and connecting the potential career routes across IEMA’s stakeholders and giving advice and support to these groups;
  • Identifying opportunities to connect both members and non-members.  
  • Delivering a highly valuable careers “hub” and actively engaging businesses, employers and wider education members to explore career opportunities and expand their networks
  • Liaising with Marketing to identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in engagement
  • Work with IEMA’s training team to link training needs to universities, corporates and individuals
  • Work with our corporate team to help assess corporate needs and deliver against them through connections, further training, and developing JD’s and required certifications / qualifications
  • Lead the relationship management effort with onboarding new partners
  • Project manage new initiatives from launch, and performance manage through their lifecycle
  • Establish a network of careers leaders that encourages collaboration, professional development and signposts careers leaders to information, opportunities and sources of support

Candidates must have;

  • Demonstrated success of working in the education and careers development sectors
  • Evidential experience in developing and delivering complex relationship based strategies
  • Demonstrated success with building executive-level client relationships and navigating complex landscapes
  • Experience at a management level of leading a team to deliver commercial objectives
  • Experience of developing and delivering successful products and benefits / partnerships and relationships, internally and externally and internationally
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills
  • Extensive experience in Business Development / Partnerships teams developing and sustaining B2B2C or B2B opportunities and exceeding yearly targets
  • Experience in conducting commercial and operational due diligence
  • Demonstrable experience in managing legal and regulatory considerations
  • Experience in developing pitch decks and writing head of terms / agreements
  • Understanding of data and information best practices – including GDPR
  • An entrepreneurial mindset

Essential is having proven skills in building relationships with executive stakeholders, being highly organised and capable of balancing multiple priorities with a strategic mindset and deep solutioning and problem-solving capabilities.  You will possess positive leadership traits and would seek to inspire and influence colleagues.

Job Placement location: This role is home based, with the occasional requirement to attend meetings at a UK location. Candidates must therefore be based in the UK and have a reliable broadband speed to be able to work from home.
