Team Leader Environmental Services

We are currently recruiting for a Supervisor to join our friendly and professional Refuse team in Babergh to help facilitate the safe and efficient delivery of services.
Reporting to the Contract Manager, this role will see you supervise a team of Refuse Collection workers, developing, managing and maintaining excellent relationships with your team and our client and customers.
You will lead by example with regards to best practice and improved methods of working across the business, ensuring that everyone is working towards and achieving set KPIs in line with the Contract requirements.
You will report regularly to the line manager on the progress of works and any matters that arise which affect the service delivery and actively seek ways to improve our service and ways of working, as well as help to support and develop your team in their career with Serco. This will include undertaking performance management, disciplinaries and training.
You will be proactive in your approach, performing on street inspections to ensure each memeber of the team is working efficiently, with the correct PPE and to high levels of Health and Safety awareness, and managing their workload effectively so as to avoid any missed collections.

First and foremost, you’ll need to be an experienced Supervisor or Team Leader looking for the next step in your career.
Ideally, you will have experience of working within a blue-collar, unionised environment with IOSH Managing Safely qualification and exceptional interpersonal skills.
You should have the confidence to be able to effectively communicate with and lead your team effectively and liaise with customers, service users and colleagues alike.
Previous experience of delivering regular reports on department performance and KPIs is essential, as well as the ability to work on your own initiative, prioritising and managing workloads, with a full UK driving licence.
Supervisory or management qualifications would be an advantage, but are not essential.
We will provide any additional training required for the Environmental Services business, we just ask that you have the passion, drive and determination to succeed!
You will be required to work Bank Holidays and 'catch up' Saturdays over the Christmas & New Year period.
