QHSE Adviser – Environmental Specialist

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) Adviser to work in our Northern region (which includes the Midlands). Travel will be between Birmingham and Chesterfield offices along with site visits in the Region and visits to our Head Office in Ipswich, so a full UK Licence is essential.
The main purpose of this role is to provide quality, health, safety and environmental advice and support across the company.
The Main Duties for this role are:
- Working in partnership with our operations team
- Building excellent working relationships with our clients and partners
- Inspiring best practice within the company and leading environmental innovation
- Collaborate with site teams in the creation and implementation of site environment and sustainability plans and strategies
- Driving positive QHSE behaviours
- Investigating incidents and recommending actions to prevent recurrence
- Monitor environmental and sustainability performance
- Promoting compliance with our quality, health, safety and environmental policies and company procedures (with a particular emphasis on environmental).
Are you the person we are looking for?
The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator who is flexible and willing to multi task and react to work demands with excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
We are not looking for the finished article, this role would suit someone who has some experience in an environmental role (preferably in construction/civil engineering) but who is now looking to progress their career within an established and experienced team.
With some experience in working to ISO 14001 standards, the ideal candidate will also have IEMA membership. We will encourage progression to achieve Chartered status in time. Experience in greenhouse gas and energy assessment would be an advantage as would some knowledge and experience of quality (9001) and health and safety (45001) management systems.
