We are looking for experienced EIA project managers to work with our specialist teams and clients on an exciting range of projects across the UK, including wind energy developments, electricity transmission infrastructure, mixed use development and other land development projects. LUC also regularly undertakes independent EIA review work across the UK and you will have a role in managing the review and production of the reports.

Reporting to the Project Director and as part of dedicated EIA teams, the role will include:

  • Managing EIA projects including liaising with project team members, clients and external organisations and representing LUC at meetings and consultation events.
  • Overseeing the production of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports/Statements.
  • Managing our EIA Report/ES review work and reviewing draft review reports.
  • Contributing to EIA tendering and business development activities.

We are registrants of IEMA’s EIA Quality Mark Scheme.

Salary circa £35k FTE.

You will be encouraged to pursue ongoing development and acquire new skills to reach your career goals, and if you haven’t yet achieved professional recognition / qualification in your field, e.g. CEnv we will provide you with the support to achieve it.

About you:
You will be an experienced EIA project manager with previous consultancy or ‘client-side’ experience. Ideally, your experience will span a number of market sectors, including the energy sector.

You will have a good degree in a relevant discipline, i.e. planning, geography, or an environmental science field and preferably will have completed a post-graduate qualification in, or covering, Environmental Impact Assessment.

In addition to EIA project management experience, you will ideally also have wider development planning
experience and the confidence to engage with the design process for complex projects.

Membership at an appropriate level of the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Management (IEMA) and/or MRTPI is desirable but not essential as the candidate can work towards membership with LUC.

Candidates must have good organisational skills, with the ability to manage tasks and time, using initiative. Also important for this role are excellent communication and report writing skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and clients.
